Air India Express has announced the expansion of its domestic network by adding six new destinations—Aurangabad, Coimbatore, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Madurai and Tirupati—from September 1, 2026. With this addition, the airline’s overall network will grow to 64 destinations, including 48 domestic and 16 international locations.
The new routes will connect the six cities with major metro hubs such as Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai. Flight bookings have opened through the airline’s website, mobile app and other booking platforms.
The airline will operate two daily flights each between Aurangabad and Delhi, Coimbatore and Mumbai, and Jamnagar and Mumbai. It will also introduce daily services on Jodhpur-Delhi, Jodhpur-Mumbai, Madurai-Chennai and Tirupati-Hyderabad routes.
Alongside the new destinations, Air India Express will increase frequencies on several Delhi routes from September 1. The airline will add one additional daily flight each between Delhi and Bhubaneswar, Kochi, Patna and Varanasi. This will raise services to four daily flights on the Delhi-Bhubaneswar and Delhi-Patna routes, and two daily flights each on the Delhi-Kochi and Delhi-Varanasi sectors.
According to the airline, the network expansion aims to improve connectivity between metro cities and key business, industrial, tourism and pilgrimage destinations. Aurangabad will provide access to the UNESCO-listed Ajanta and Ellora caves, while Jamnagar serves as an important industrial hub. Coimbatore, Madurai, Tirupati and Jodhpur are expected to strengthen connectivity across manufacturing, cultural, tourism and religious travel segments.
The expansion follows a series of recent network additions by the airline, including services from Bhopal, international flights from Navi Mumbai to Abu Dhabi, and direct services connecting Guwahati with Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
With the latest expansion, Air India Express said it will operate more than 2,700 domestic flights every week across its 48 destinations.
