Goa Institute of Management (GIM) has recognised alumna Supria Dhanda as the Institute’s first woman Founding Donor of the GIM Endowment Fund after she contributed ₹1.025 crore, one of the largest alumni donations in the institute’s history.
To honour her contribution, GIM has named one of its student residence halls after Dhanda. She has also been included among the first honourees on the institute’s Star Walk, an alumni donor recognition initiative inspired by the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The recognition was announced during GIM’s Foundation Day celebrations in the presence of faculty members, students, alumni and guests. Dhanda, a 1998 MBA graduate of the institute, is currently the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of WYSER and Founder of the BAGGGEL Foundation.
Speaking on the occasion, Dhanda said contributing to the Endowment Fund was her way of giving back to an institution that played an important role in her professional journey. She also encouraged more alumni to support future generations of students through similar contributions.
GIM Director Ajit Parulekar said alumni support plays an important role in strengthening institutions and creating opportunities for future students. He described Dhanda’s contribution as a reflection of alumni confidence in the institute’s long-term vision.
The GIM Endowment Fund aims to promote a culture of alumni philanthropy and support academic excellence, innovation and student development. The initiative has been developed in collaboration with Univariety to provide a structured platform for alumni contributions.
