Vedam School of Technology on Tuesday announced the successful completion of the first academic semester of its inaugural cohort, marking an early milestone for its industry-oriented Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence programme.
The institution said its curriculum is designed to emphasise hands-on learning from the first semester, with students engaging in real-world coding, AI projects, hackathons and application development alongside core academic fundamentals. First-year students have already built AI chatbots, live applications and early-stage startup concepts.
As part of the programme, students participated in contest-style Java coding challenges, algorithmic bootcamps and a 24-hour hackathon, during which all participating teams delivered functional prototypes. Selected teams will further develop their projects at Vedam’s Innovation Lab.
Vedam said industry mentorship is embedded into the academic structure, with professionals from leading technology firms engaging with students through mentoring sessions, workshops and visiting faculty programmes. The curriculum is led by Subhesh Kumar, a former Google engineer, and includes regular project reviews and personalised academic support.
The semester concluded with a live project exhibition showcasing student-built applications. The institute also said students have established multiple campus clubs focused on entrepreneurship, programming, open source and esports.
Admissions are currently open for the four-year Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence programme (Batch 2026–2030), with degrees awarded by Ajeenkya DY Patil University, Pune.
