CREDAI-MCHI, the apex body representing real estate developers in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), has appointed Mr. Sukhraj Nahar, Chairman of Nahar Group, as its 18th President for 2025–2027. The Change of Guard ceremony, held at Jio World Centre, was graced by Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis, past presidents, and members of the association.

Mr. Nahar succeeds Mr. Domnic Romell and will lead CREDAI-MCHI under Mission CARES, a framework focusing on Compassion, Affordability, Reforestation, Empowerment, and Skilling. The new management committee includes Mr. Bandish Ajmera (President Elect), Mr. Rushi Mehta (Secretary), and Mr. Nikunj Sanghavi (Treasurer).

Highlighting the government’s vision, CM Fadnavis said Mumbai is at the cusp of transformation with BDD Chawls redevelopment, slum-free urban renewal, world-class infrastructure, and Innovation City, creating “a once-in-a-generation opportunity” for global leadership in urban living.

Mr. Nahar emphasized, “Our sector has always built Mumbai’s skyline. Now we must also build its soul. Mission CARES is our pledge to develop with empathy, digitise with purpose, and ensure affordability and sustainability.”

The roadmap includes a PropTech Lab, Affordable Housing Innovation Cell, mobile skilling labs, rationalisation of premiums, and green scorecards for all projects. CREDAI-MCHI has also committed to 10,000+ affordable units by 2026, 100+ health camps annually, scholarships for 1,000 students, daycare centres, and disaster relief initiatives.

With 2,200+ member developers, CREDAI-MCHI’s new leadership has pledged to blend growth, sustainability, and social equity in shaping MMR’s real estate future.
