NBA, ACG and BFI Launch India’s Largest School-Based Basketball Program with Skechers

Mumbai, September 13, 2024 – The NBA, ACG, and the Basketball Federation of India (BFI) have teamed up to launch the ACG Jr. NBA program, the country’s largest school-based basketball initiative. The program will feature a nationwide 3v3 tournament for boys and girls under the age of 14. Skechers will provide high-quality gear as the official kit partner.

Starting on September 24 in Mumbai and Chennai, the tournament will travel to cities like Aizawl, Delhi, Kolkata, and Ludhiana. The top teams from each city will compete in league phases, leading to the finals next year. The initiative also aims to identify elite talent and create opportunities for players, coaches, and referees across India. Schools can register to participate through the official link.

NBA India Head Rajah Chaudhry said, “This collaboration with ACG, BFI, and Skechers will drive participation and improve talent development at the youth level across the country.”

Karan Singh, Managing Director of ACG, emphasized the program’s role in developing character and opportunities for young athletes, while BFI President Aadhav Arjuna highlighted its importance for grassroots basketball growth.

Skechers CEO Rahul Vira added, “We are thrilled to enhance the game for the ACG Jr. NBA players with innovative and high-quality gear.”
