GOVERNMENT OF HIMACHAL PRADESH AND SKYE AIR SIGNED AN AGREEMENT TO ENABLE DRONE DELIVERY WITHIN THE STATE

Shimla, 12 th July, 2022: Skye Air Mobility, leading drone-technology-based logistics firm
has entered into an agreement with HPSEDC (H.P. State Electronics Development
Corporation Ltd.) to lend its support by offering payload as a service throughout the State of
Himachal Pradesh.
The agreement was formalized in the presence of Mukesh Repaswal, Managing Director,
HPSEDC and Anil Semwal, General Manager HPSEDC, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh and
Shrikant Sarda, Co-Founder & Director – Govt. Business, Skye Air Mobility, at IT Bhavan,
Shimla.

is significant as connectivity and logistics are a serious challenge in the state due to the hilly
terrain. Through our services, we will help overcome the problem of poor road and rail
connectivity. This will also act as a model for the other states to embrace drone technology
faster. This will usher a new era in the directions of using technology to serve the people at
the ground level. The Government of Himachal Pradesh has come out with a very optimistic
and progressive approach towards drone deliveries and with the support of Ministry of Civil
Aviation, we look forward to establishing regular flights in the State of Himachal Pradesh to

Skye Air will be using its most reliable UAV, Skye Ship One, to facilitate real-time deliveries.
Further commenting on the agreement with Skye Air Mobility, Mr. Mukesh Repaswal,
Managing Director, HPSEDC said, “The empanelment of various drone service providers
and companies is being carried out as a part of the Project GARUD (Governance and
Reforms Using Drones) in Himachal Pradesh. Skye Air has been empaneled with HPSEDC for
provision of drones as a service and we hope that with their experience they will work
towards improving the last mile delivery of services, especially in medical sector in the
remote regions of the State. “.
Skye Air has already made two successful drone delivery projects in the past in Himachal.
Skye Air showcased its capability and products at the Drone Mela, Dharamshala which was
organized by Himachal Govt in the month of Dec 2021. It demonstrated its autonomous
BVLOS flight from SAI Sports Ground to Medical College Hospital (Tanda) covering a
distance of nearly 12 km (aerial) in Himachal Pradesh. The flights were geared with vaccines
and medicines by its customized small category drone named Skye Ship One. The aim was
to showcase the efficiency of drones, how life-saving medical items such as blood, vaccines
and medicines can be delivered faster as compared to roads.
This year in the month of February, Skye Air has initiated a 3-day long BVLOS trial in the
Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh to connect over 6 PHC/CHCs and the Area Hospitals via
multiple flights between points covering an aerial distance of 170 kms throughout the trial.
The Drone delivery tech firm is using its most reliable UAV, Skye Ship One to facilitate real-
time deliveries of vaccines and medicines within a specified temperature range of 2-8 degree
Celsius. The flights, equipped with consignments of medical supplies flew beyond at an
altitude of 400 feet above ground level in a designated Green Zone of Chamba district. The
flights took place at 3 air corridors – Chaned, Tissa and Mehla demonstrating the diversity of
Skye Ship One adopting different temperature zones, steep mountain range and air-pockets.

It is noteworthy to mention that Skye Air has successfully operated over 1500+ flights so
far. Skye Air has already been offering its expertise through efficient and cost-effective
deliveries of medical supplies and Agri-commodities. Thus, enabling connected, automated,
and faster logistics in the region.
